Christmas Day!!

Ok, so ... I know it's now into the start of February but I think I may have finally found a work around for my Blogger/Picassa issues that works (fingers crossed anyway!) and I thought since no one really got to see our Christmas piccies it'd be a shame not to try again ... so here goes ...

Christmas Day dawned warm and bright ... not that we saw the dawn! With little BizBiz still innocently unaware of what the day means we all got to sleep in until 20 past 7!

Isobel trying to work out why she's been handed a sock full of assorted weird stuff and CHOCOLATE!

Hey mum lets go downstairs and check the rest of the laundry for stuff!

After the 'official' breakfast of pancakes and strawberries Isobel discovered someone had left a big pile of wrapped boxes under the Christmas tree and kindly offered to help clear up ... with Martin's help!

Whoosh!

Neeeext...

Right, so before I open this one can anyone guess what's in here?!

Nope ... all wrong! It's a rattly 'thing'!

Isobel lets Dad take a turn with some present unwrapping...

Ta Da!

Paul doing the Griswold pose (the keen photographer didn't quite catch on that the hat bauble was on the wrong side - otherwise Paul'd have been a 'dead ringer'!)

Martin breaks out the festive attire ...

While Isobel discovers what other things the fun, squishy, flashy, orange ball does (apart from squish and flash) - incidently the fun flashing only lasted until that evening when Sharon and Vickie decided to have a fun game of catch-the-energetically-thrown-ball-in-the-dark with it (there were some spectacular catches...and misses!). Fortunately Bell's content with the orange ball just being 'fun' and 'squishy' now!

The master chief checks on the progress of Christmas dinner ... Aussie style!

And we all had to admith it was the best lamb we'd ever tasted!

Isobel decides that Mum's Christmas present is just her size!

and the perfect napping buddy!

Interestingly Bell isn't the only one catching a quick pre-dinner kip!

Strangely everyone still woke up in time to start eating!
"I can't wear this Mum it's gonna mess up my hair!"

THE FEAST!

Close up of the 'feasters': The Smiths ...

The Mogfords

and the biggest present of all ...
"Ok so I've unwrapped it ... but I've still got no idea what it is!"

Some skilled assemblage by Paul and Martin (and a handy brick!) later and it's a bike! It's also the perfect excuse for an after-feast stroll around Iron Cove!

"Hey check this out ...

I can ride with only one leg!"

About half way around the cove is a fun little park, where we all decided to 'let Isobel play for a bit' ... after all it's Christmas!
"Lemme up, lemme up!" (assisted by lots of helping hands!)

"Weeee"

"Wahooo"

Getting some pointers on how to use the climby pole by two experts.

Unbelievable but true - hungry again! Time to head home and finish off those mince pies!

A relaxing stroll into the setting sun ... the perfect end to the best Christmas Day!
