The Hot and The Cold

The spring weather in Sydney has been it's usual unpredictable self the last month. Saturday 14th Oct was very hot, 37 degrees C before lunch which broke all sorts of records (in something like 150 years)! We'd planned a BBQ lunch at Laura's place (my British bridesmaid who's been in Oz for about 3years now) which is at Bondi just five minutes from the beach and being so hot we thought we'd pop down there for a bit ... so did one or two other people!

Laura and boyfriend Troy - the big news being that they're engaged! Wedding date is set for around March 2008.

Trying to appear cool and unconcerned after slogging up the big hill in 40 degree heat! Bizzers musters enough energy to check that her nose is still there.
Hey Dad I think I spotted some people over there!
Yup .... just a few!
But would you believe it ... the very next weekend (the 21st) was steely grey and freezing cold! So we spent a lazy afternoon trying to remember where we stored our jumpers and tormenting the kids!

...The great white (slightly confused) shark!
What do you mean 'sit here and look cute'?! What's that got to do with lunch?
Oh, the food's coming now?! Whydidn'tyousay? Someone'd better tell the little guy too 'cause I don't think he heard!
Bell helps mum prepare lunch ... or she would if she could reach!
Hanging out in the 'jungle' (we still haven't gotten a lawnmower!)
and there's always time for more pouncing lessons!
There was also plenty of time for a 'quick' game of Risk and we managed to avoid any real bloodshed ... just! (however we did pick up a useful tid bit - if you play against your spouse you either lose or should look into getting a good lawyer!)
Isobel the walking peg basket - mmm dessert!
Yeeerrrkk! What is this ... a leaf?!
Hang on a minute ... is there something on my back?
Daaad did you put pegs on me again?! Dad ...
'Dad' was eventually located still playing at world domination!
