The world seems to labor under the illusion that Tassy is a tiny spot of land so small it's inclusion is 'optional' on most world maps and easily traversable (several times!) in one day! The sad fact of reality is, that even the relatively short trip from Launceston (rain capitol of the world) to Hobart (radiant, dream city) takes a cool 3hrs by car (can you tell which place I grew up in?!) ... fortunately I had landed myself with a willing chauffeur in our local, Tasmanian, 'devil'ish good, Gran!
Ofcourse all the UPing and DOWNing (we did it twice) meant much stopping-mid-way to unbordify the grandkids ... this is one of those (very picturesque) unbordifying spots (who's name I've forgotten despite the 'famous' convict built house there and fascinating 'wool museum'...)
All in all (considering her lack of previous experience!) Mum seems to have fallen into her 'Grandma' duties pretty good ... now if I could just find a spot for a quick nap while they're all having so much fun!
